If you've recently decided to dive into the world of hi-fi gaming headsets than you probably discovered that they tend to require a much higher impedance.

For example, the Sennheiser PC 350 gaming headset has a requirement of 150ohms. I couldn't find any documentation online that specified the specifics on the headphone output of the Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Pro (PCI edition) so I decided to contact support:

Hello,

Thanks for your inquiry.

You should be able to use 150 Ohm headphones.

Sure it'll work, but it'll be underpowered and you won't get the fullest out out if it.

  2. I've listened to the headphones plugged directly into my Onkyo receiver as well as directly into the back of the sound card and I notice no loss in audio fidelity.
