Want Dark Souls on PC? The Ball’s Still in Namco’s Court

The possibility of a Dark Souls PC port was discussed shortly after the game launched on consoles this year, but it’s not been forgotten. From Software’s R&D boss Masanori Takeuchi was pressed on for some answers at GDC, and he confirmed to GameTrailers that Namco Bandai still holds the final decision.
“That’s going to be a decision left up to the publisher, Bandai Namco, but yes, we have seen the comments and we do know of the desire for a PC version,” stated Takeuchi, as diplomatically as one could reasonably expect.
A petition for a PC port is close to 90,000 signatures, and there’s a fresh drive to bump up the number. Although online petitions aren’t ever likely to be noticed, something that shows a clear consumer demand for a product ought to get some attention. The PC market isn’t as close to dead as some marketing bods might like to believe, and I think a Steam version of this little beauty would clean house. A Western RPG design and some balls-hard challenge? Sounds like something the master race masturbates over nightly.
C’mon Namco. Let’s have it.
