If you're playing the BF4 beta you may notice that performance is less than expected. First and foremost, make sure you are running the latest Beta drivers for your video card.
Secondly, install the version of DirectX that is in the Battlfield 4 Beta directory.
Navigate to: "{your installation path}Battlefield 4 Beta\__Installer\directx\redist" and run the DXSetup.exe file.
Enjoy greatly improved performance! This has been verified to improve performance on 2 separate machines so far. Let me know if it works for you as well.
The theory is that the version of DX included in the install dir contains enhancements that BF4 is relying on.
However, this is purely theory on my part as the slide indicates the optimizations were added only to DX11.1 running on Windows 8.
Thirdly, you may see a performance improvement by enabling hyperthreading if you processor supports it. As you can see in the slide above, Frostbite has been optimized to run on as much as 8 cores now.
As you can see, DICE worked closely with AMD to optimize it for their hardware which makes sense since both the PS4 and XboxOne are powered by AMD hardware.
If you currently bleed green, I highly recommend coming over to the #AMDRedTeam Why is that you ask? I can answer your question in one word - MANTLE, but that is a topic for another day.
