Hayabusa T3 Gloves Review

After approximately 5 years of use, my hands would become sore after working the heavy bag using Hyabusa Ikusa 16oz gloves. Naturally, the padding breaks down and no longer provides the same level of protection.

Hyabusa gloves quickly became my favorite glove due to the double hook and loop system (which is unique to Hyabusa gloves) which keeps the gloves very secure on your wrists, mimicking the feel of lace up gloves.

I chose to replace my Hyabusa Ikusa 16oz gloves with a pair of Hyabusa T3 16oz gloves. I have completed a workout using them, and things are promising; no sore hands afterwards. However, they are an extremely tight fit, especially when wearing hand wraps. It took quite a bit of wiggling to get my hands into the gloves, but they did fit. Also, there seems to be a slight defect in the right hand near the pinky, as in, it gets squashed. I'm going to try and manipulate that area by hand several time to see if I can get it to loosen up or expand a bit.

I immediately noticed the gloves are lighter, and have a smaller form factor than my previous gloves. This got me curious about the actual weight between these two gloves - both of which are labeled as 16 ounces.

As it turns out, neither glove is a true 16 ounces.

  • Hyabusa T3 16oz Glove - 15.05 ounces (15 ounces and a half ounce, not 15 and a half ounces)
  • Hyabusa Iskusa 16oz Glove - 22 ounces
